Our Story
Firestarter Entertainment Talent Agency was founded by Nicole Pryor Dernersesian in 2008, first as a production company, where Nicole wrote, directed, cast, produced and booked shows under the company. In 2013, Nicole decided to transition Firestarter Entertainment into the successful talent agency we know today.
Before becoming an entrepreneur, Nicole was known as the first African American woman to perform the role of The Confidante in the Las Vegas Company of The Phantom of the Opera directed by the incomparable, Hal Prince. As a vocalist and songwriter, Nicole released 2 albums, both available on iTunes: "I'm Here" and "The Long Way Home". In addition to her stage work, Nicole taught private vocal lessons for over 14 years, including a two year stint as an Adjunct Professor of Vocal Performance at her alma mater, Pepperdine University.
In September of 2012, after 6 1/2 years and over 2600 shows, Nicole took her final bow on the stage of The Phantom of the Opera and returned home to Los Angeles where she decided to turn her company, Firestarter Entertainment into a Talent Agency.
The company has grown exponentially from its humble beginnings and it is exciting to see its continued growth moving from year to year as we continue to pursue our big promise, which is:
Igniting a new way of doing business where transparency, honesty, responsiveness and integrity take center stage. .
